When we look back at the journey of Almost Lazy, inspired in sound, away from influence, its no wonder every song was a moments insanity, a lethargic game of bouncing files that remain live recordings & posting them on Soundcloud straight away like a rookie lol. So whats happened to the catalog of tunes that have put festival & venue stages under so much pressure since 2012? That is the question that trying to get answered.. hopefully it wont take 7 years like releasing the catalog has… haha
As we approach the 7 year anniversary on 4/20, of Almost Lazy’s creation we can see a game of catch up being played like its a room full of kids & the parents have gone to smoke.. So what does that even mean>>??
Here is what it means:
We are releasing the back catalog of Almost Lazy tunes in an order of them being written.. Seems legit, just a little bent all these years later… Well your right! its well bent! something to swallow with salt or just plain drown yourself in the sub frequencies that are ever present in the Lazy existence. So yea, releasing all our oldest tracks first, building the EP & Mixtape situations that can deliver the sounds to you. Currently we are up to 2015.. haha
Im laughing… true, but the challenges they’ve faced in bringing this amount of songs to a place of release has been eye opening… Songs written without genres in mind, without a story to follow & without trying to write a song, all independent, all unique, all unheard somehow end up in a release, with a plot & a timeless story of creation. 2019, the year of the back catalog….
What we can say is that while we are very excited to bring these current releases to the surface & streaming services, what is waiting to be exported from the MPC is of another level… In fact, what is waiting to be written in the MPC’s is again the distinct difference that is Almost Lazy & all of his alter ego’s haha!
